Geographers who focus on Natural Resources and Environmental Issues study the geospatial dimensions of landscapes including soils, vegetation, water resources, land use, natural hazards, climate and related areas. At UNL, geographers are currently working on research dealing with topics such as:
- invasive species
- soil erosion and surficial landscape processes
- drought monitoring
- groundwater pollution risk assessment
- wildlife habitat modeling
- lake water quality evaluation
- site suitability analysis for viticulture.
