The Earth's climate controls the availability of water for agricultural producers, energy providers, water suppliers, natural resource managers and others. Â Examples of current climate and water research at SNR include:
- historical relationships between soil moisture and groundwater
- ways to improve streamflow measurements and drought forecasts
- using tracers to understand water flow and climate change effects
- historical geology and evolution of ground and surface water in the Nebraska Sand Hills and High Plains aquifers
- improved soil water and drought monitoring technologies
